Summary
In the southern hemisphere the seasons are reversed. Therefore, in Buenos Aires, December – February is the hottest time of the year as this considered summertime. Days are hot and humid with temperatures ranging from 28 – 35 Deg C (80 – 95 Deg F). This is also the most popular time to travel to the city, but it is also when locals head away from town for their own vacations. During the first 2 weeks of January many shops, restaurants and even hotels go on shut down, leaving the city feeling a little empty. June – August is wintertime, and days can be a little chilly and overcast. March – May and Sept – November offer more moderate weather conditions and are good times to travel. Oct – November is when the jacaranda trees are in full bloom and a beautiful time to visit the city. It can rain anytime in Buenos Aires, even during summer when the rain can be torrential!
