I am a native from Cusco in Peru, or as they say locally – Cusqueño. My mother is from the jungle region of Quillabamba a few hours on from Machu Picchu, and my father was born in Peru’s second biggest city - Arequipa. I grew up fully immersed in local Peruvian traditions and naturally have participated in many festivals and local cultural events.

Being from Cusco – the heartland of the Incas – tourism has always played a large part in my life. With numerous family members working as guides, it was only natural that I would go on to work in tourism too. I graduated Cusco’s Andina University with a degree in Tourism in 2015. My thesis focused on the implementation of the new international ISO 9001:2015 quality management standards, which had just been released.

Nowadays I work at TLA Travel as the Operations Manager. It is my job to oversee the smooth running of our reservations and planning teams for all the trips we operate throughout Latin America. Quality assurance and vetting of services and hotels also falls under my remit.

In Peru, I have traveled extensively, both with my work and privately. Travel is a passion for me, so I feel fortunate to be able to incorporate this in my daily work routine. In Peru, I enjoy the northern-coast areas, where the climate is warm, the ceviche fresh and the beers are chilled. In Latin America, the Galapagos Islands have always been one of my favorite destinations. The natural beauty and endemic wildlife really make for a unique and fun trip.
